Your pour the oil in the oil fill hole. Normally it will be located on one of the valve covers. It will say "OIL" on the cap. Be very careful and do not add oil to the wrong place. Also do not overfill, as this is just as bad as under-filling. Check the oil level at the dipstick with the vehicle sitting on a level surface and after the engine has been shut down for at least 15 minutes. Use the correct weight oil, and only add what is necessary to reach the full mark on the dipstick. The add mark usually means it is 1qt or less low.
