KPSI stands for Knots Per Square Inch. In hand-knotted carpets, this term literally refers to how many knots can be counted in a square inch of carpeting. As a general rule of thumb, rugs with a higher KPSI are better quality than rugs with a lower KPSI. However, to truly use KPSI to your greatest advantage, you must only compare apples to apples. Only comparable rugs (rugs from the same country, city, style, etc.) should be looked at when comparing KPSI, as sometimes a higher knot count is not necessarily the result of a better quality rug, but rather the result of a low quality, thinner wool. Also, some rugs are just always going to coarser than others (geometric vs. floral styles, for example).
No. The main reason that carpets are used in the first place is the fact that they are poor to mediocre conductors of heat.
One way of keeping heat in the house is to have carpets. carpets help to retain heat in the house and keep the house warm. i hope u find this answer useful:)
ceramic tiles feel colder because it kind of takes the warmth from you but the carpet doesn't as it can 'store' heat whereas the tiles can't
it really depends on the type of carpet but most carpets are made of plastic, therefore, they are insulators.
It is, what thunder and lightening is.It makes your jumper crackle, when you pull it over your head.It makes balloons stick to the ceiling, after you have charged them up by rubbing on fabric or hair.It makes your clothes stick together, when you get them out of the tumble dryer. It gives you a shock, when you insert the key to a hotel room door, after walking on synthetic carpets.
