It is just like smugglers end with BS. however, if you want the automatic version then before starting "take it back!" tell Sarah (I think that's her name) that your not ready. then fast travel to rivet city. get off of the rusty thing and head towards the Jefferson memorial. don't turn when you reach the water, just swim through and keep going straight. when you reach the memorial you will see a little gap between the shields with some rocks. jump on the rocks to get through and get inside normally, kill col.Autumn and leave. Once outside fast travel may be neccesery. Now you have the automatic version without having to end the game

I personally recommend Fallout 3 to any other Fallout game. Fallout 3 has a more organized and in my opinion interesting storyline. And you. And you can also keep the game going after you beat the main quest on Fallout 3 if you buy the DLC "Broken Steel."
