The first issue to decide is whether there really is a hell. Atheists say there is no heaven and no hell. Jews say there is a heaven, but there is no hell. Christians and Muslims say there is a heaven and there is a hell.

If in fact there is a hell, those who go there can not have thir earthly bodies, because we know without doubt that they stay in the grave.

What is man in Christianity?

Man is a tripartite being - he is a soul, has a spirit and lives in a body. The body is just the casing the real person is within, which is the soul. As a man your spirit and body performs the functions of interfacing you to the two paradigms of existence, the spiritual realms and the natural (earthly). By your spirit you gain access and connectivity with the spiritual realms and by your body you interact with the physical world around you.

How did God create man's soul?

Genesis 2:7 7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. The scriptures sometimes refer to a body and spirit joined together as a soul. Accordingly the term soul is used in conjunction with the body and the spirit of man.

What is happening to soul after a living thing die?

The soul as you refer is in fact the body and the spirit of man. When a person dies his spirit goes back to that God who gave it life. After the resurrection the body will be reunited with its spirit to its perfect frame, not one hair being lost. The scriptures do not say that the very same materials of which the original body was made of will be used, but that the body will be in its exact likeness when it was upon the earth.

Where in the Bible can you find out when the soul was created and by whom?

Gen.2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. According to this reading both the body and the spirit are the soul of man. At a certain time, a child in the womb will receive its spirit, the child then becomes a living soul. All of our spirits existed before this world was made.

Does the bible say fear no man but god?

"And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather, fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." Matthew 10:28, NKJV. "The Lord is my helper; I will not fear: What can man do to me?" Hebrews 13:6b, NKJV.

What Bible verse tells that your spirit doesn't burn in hell for eternity but it just dies?

Answer:There are a couple of passages that refer to the coming "Judgment" [when the prophesied LAKE OF FIRE is slated to BURN UP the wicked - see Rev.20:15]. Jesus speaks of this "GEHENNA FIRE" that the KJV translates "HELL" as the Gehenna Valley near Jerusalem, that will burn for a thousand years, as destroying what is cast into it -- not burning for eternity. But He only mentions two things in His warning -- neither of which is 'the spirit' in us:"...fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him which is able to DESTROY BOTH SOUL AND BODY IN HELL [Gehenna]." (Matt.10:28)Paul alludes to the coming Judgment when Jesus returns... and mentions the spirit. But... he prays for the preservation the spirit, soul and body. And he says nothing about anyone's "spirit burning in hell for eternity.""...the very God of Peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ." (I Thess.5:23)Other than the two "Judgment-referenced" passages, above... the ones below and others that speak of "man's spirit" mostly inform us that our spirit is something "within us"; a little noticed and understood biblical fact which the Bible doesn't say about the "soul."[the words "soul" and "spirit"; "heaven" and "hell" are subjects of great ignorance and debate among people of all religions... as well as between their denominations].But, the vast majority of biblical references to the "human spirit" [listed below] make no reference to the Judgment or anyone's spirit "burning in hell for eternity" -- including the above statement by the Judge Himself, Jesus Christ... who only mentions "bodies" and "souls" being DESTROYEDin Gehenna [hell]."...they fell on their faces, and said, O God, THE GOD OF THE SPIRITS OF ALL FLESH, shall one man sin, and wilt thou be wroth with all the congregation?" (Num.16:22)."But THERE IS A SPIRIT IN MAN; and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding." (Job 32:8)"The SPIRIT OF MAN is the candle of the Lord, searching all the inward parts of the belly." (Prov.20:27)"...with my spirit WITHIN ME will I seek thee early..." (Isa.26:9)."...saith the Lord, which stretcheth forth the heavens... and FORMETH THE SPIRIT OF MAN WITHIN HIM." (Zech.12:1)"For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except THE MAN's SPIRIT WITHIN HIM? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God." (I Cor.2:11 NIV)"...be renewed in THE SPIRIT OF YOUR MIND..." (Eph.4:23)."...the SPIRIT THAT DWELLETH IN US lusteth to envy?" (James 4:5).Paul prays for the "Children of God" [God's elect; His church, the sake of whom Paul was commissioned by God]... that they might turn away from evil. And that if there be some who wickedly refuse to heed the warning:"To deliver such an one unto Satan for THE DESTRUCTION OF THE FLESH, that THE SPIRIT MAY BE SAVED in the DAY OF THE LORD JESUS." (I Cor.5:5)There is no scripture in the Bible about anything "burning in hell for eternity." But whatever shall be cast into the coming "Lake of Fire" on Judgment Day are "material, physical things" that shall be "destroyed"... "burned to ashes"... "ended"... "finished."Another thought:As mentioned above, many religions teach that not the spirit, but the 'soul' is what lives on after death, and scripturally there's a difference between 'Soul' and 'Spirit'.(Hebrews 4:12)'Spirit'(Hebrew: Ruach/Greek:Pneuma)is God's active force and the 'breath' of life.'Soul' (Hebrew: Nepesh/Greek:Psykhe)is the creature itself, body/personality/vital force all together. We can read about that at: Genesis 2:17:"And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man BECAME A LIVING SOUL"(KJV)(Genesis 2:7)(1 Corinthians 15:45).And when Adam sinned, the penalty for disobedience was not 'torture in hell', but 'DEATH'(Genesis 2:17/Genesis 3:19/Psalm 146:4/Romans 5:12). The soul can die (Ecclesiastes 3:19+20) So, to answer your question:'the soul that sinneth, it shall die." (KJV-Ezekiel 18:4)(Romans 6:23)

Is there is soul within your body?

Yes. God created man with a soul. Genesis 2:7. The term "in our image"in verse 1:26. Refers to the Trinity; Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. So we are body ,soul, and spirit. Hebrews 4:12 says we are "soul and spirit and joints and marrow". At birth God breaths life into our soul and at rebirth God breaths life into our spirit. So we become "born again".Answer:There have been many studies by the faithful to identify the location of or quantify the soul. None have had any successes that meet the criteria of impartiality or repeatability.

When did the words 'immortal' and 'soul' first appear together in the Bible?

I do not believe you will find the actual phrase 'immortal soul' in the Bible. In fact, some sects say the soul is not immortal and there is no life between physical death and 'the resurrection of the body' on judgment day.Another answer:The phrase "immortal soul" does not appear in the Bible. However, between the promise of eternal life for the faithful believer (John 3:16) and the question asked by Jesus in Matthew 16:26 (For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?), the Bible clearly teaches that the soul of man IS immortal, and that its ultimate disposition is solely in the hands of God.Ecclesiastes 12:7 - Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, And the spirit will return to God who gave it.Matthew 10:28 - And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.[Quotes from NKJV]
