I believe that psychologists are interested in studying gender because they are trying to determine which factors influence how the different sexes act more: genes or their environment. For example, do men act masculine or women act feminine because they are genetically determined to do so? Or is it because these behaviors were promoted by their parents and peers?
They control for these factors by using one or more of the following: random assignment, replication, naturalistic observation, and representative samples.
The five factors that promote psychological well being in middle adulthood are: Good Health and ExerciseGood health promotes overall well being and exercise stimulate energy and a sense of accomplishment. Sense of Control and Personal Life InvestmentOverall they have to have control over health, family, work, and social matters. They must also learn to stick with goals for an higher sense of accomplishment. Positive Social RelationshipsThis could also be a good motivator for exercise. Those who join clubs at the gym or at their local recreation centers can increase well being. A Good MarriageFriendships are good, but they may not be enough for this stage in life. Sexual satisfaction, joint income, someone to rely on and care for you become increasingly important with age. Mastery of Multiple RolesPeople must learn to adequately juggle between being a parent, a spouse, an employee, and even a friend. Confidence in these areas reduces stress and the risk of depression.
Humans subconsciously study bone structure, and a lot of opinions of why people are "cute" are based upon that. Which is why sometimes when people ask "Why do you think they are cute" you don't quite know why, its because your actually studying their bone structure in their face. A persons eyes and self-esteem may also be factors into such a claim.
When a person attributes a behavior to bad luck rather than personal responsibility or other factors, it is an example of external attribution or making an external locus of control attribution. In psychology, attribution refers to the process of explaining the causes of behaviors or events. In this case, by attributing the behavior to bad luck, the individual is placing the cause of the behavior outside of themselves, suggesting that external factors or circumstances beyond their control (luck) influenced or caused the behavior. This contrasts with internal attribution, where the individual would attribute the behavior to their own characteristics, abilities, or decisions.

Genes are the factors that control traits .

Central Command Theory states that: The initial cardiovascular response to exercise is stimulated by neural signals from the brain. Basically, It states that the brain causes the temporary adaptations to exercise, not local factors.
Transport control factors.
In a control group, factors are consistant- the factors do not change
