The Zero was the primary Japanese Fighter at the time. It was much better than any plane than the US had. Killed a bunch of our guy's until we caught up.

"meatballs" or "Zeroes") into and over Pearl Harbor, crashing into ships, buildings, and the ground in order to create explosions and kill as many people as possible (see "kamakaze pilots"). They also dropped bombs onto ships and certain areas, as well as fired ammunition (bullets) as they flew over the harbor in an attempt to destroy the harbor.
