If separated storage is not possible, raw meat should be stored below other foods to prevent contamination in case the packaging should fail and the meat drips uncooked juices. The different raw meats should be stored according to the final temperature required for the meat. Raw beef should be stored above raw chicken since chicken is generally cooked to higher temperatures than beef.
