V=IR where V is voltage, I is current and R is resistance. You want to know what the current will be in a series circuit based on the resistance.

You need to know the voltage as well as the resistance, gives you the equation as follows

I=V/R

So if you have 10 volts and a 1 ohm resistor, the current will be 10 amps. If you increase the resistor to 10 ohms, your current will then be 1 amp.

In a parallel circuit, the resistance is equal to the sum of the inverse. For example. If I have two resistors of 2 ohms each in parallel, the equation would be

1/2 + 1/2 = 0.5 + 0.5 = 1

In that particular instance, your current would increase.

yes, The current flowing in a series circuit is given by the applied voltage divided by it's total resistance offered by the circuit.

hence if resistance of the circuit is changed, then total circuit resistance will change, so current will change.
