You Need 2 Parent cells for sexual reproduction
An organism that reproduces sexually must have cells that divide two times. The first time is to replicate the DNA, the second is to make the new cells.

Sexual reproduction
An egg cell and a sperm cell.
Gametes are important because they are necessary for sexual reproduction. Gametes are the sex cells (sperm and ova/eggs) which contain half the number of chromosomes of a somatic (non-sex) cell. This is very important because it ensures that when the two gametes join, the resulting organism has the correct number of chromosomes.
Cells combine to create a baby through a process called fertilization. During sexual reproduction, a sperm cell from a male and an egg cell from a female join together in a process called fertilization. This forms a zygote, which is the first cell of a new organism. The zygote then undergoes cell division and development to eventually form a baby.
but the adaptations are gametes ( cells like the sperm and the egg which have to join together) and sexual organsIt causes genetic variation and allows for better survivability.

Sexual reproduction
In sexual reproduction, an organism get half of it's genes from it mother and half from the father. Without the genes from both the egg and sperm, the genome of the new organism would be incomplete.
