you can find chao in all of the main worlds the only main world that did not have a chao hidden in it was zone 3 ocean base.
but in route 99/zone 1, sunset hill/zone 2, toy kingdom/zone 4, twinkle snow/zone 5, cyber track/zone 6, and chaos angel/zone 7, all have chao hidden in them, in cyber track and route 99 their chao is hidden close to the big ring for the rest you will have to figure that out. well there`s at least one answer!

I havent done it yet but I know for a fact you have to find all the Chao in each level (10 Zone Chao = 1 Emerald) and then play as Sonic and Tails in the Altar Eerald level. You will play the boss as Super Sonic but instead of Gmerl falling a different cutscene will occur (I hate spoiling so if you've done everthing go for it)

To make a Chaos Chao you have to reincarnate your Chao at least twice. After that, give it 1 of each out of all 21 animals (Note: Do not give them Chaos Drives!). Yes, you can feed your Chao too. If you want it to be an Angel Chaos Chao, raise it with any Hero character: Sonic, Tails, or Knuckles. If you want it to be a Devil Chaos Chao, raise it with any Dark character: Shadow, Eggman, or Rouge. If you want it to be a Light Chao, raise it with a mixture between the Hero and Dark characters and keep it Neutral. When it evolves, it should be a Chaos Chao. Hope that helped! :]
