Also known as Nicholas II of Russia, he was the last Russian emperor. His family's story was rather tragic, and has become a subject of fantasy and intrigue through the decades. Nicholas was the father of the Princess Anastasia. Although Nicholas and his family were all murdered and dumped in a mass grave, many women claimed to be Anastasia in the following years. After the discovery of the grave and DNA testing, these claims were all proven false. Nicholas was also known for his involvement with the mystic, Grigori Rasputin.

The most famous Anastasia impersonator was Anna Anderson, who was conclusively proven to be a fraud by DNA, before the remains of the Tsar and his family were found. The entire family has been recognized as "passion bearers' by the Russian Orthodox Church, a sort of equivalent to sainthood.
