Moses and the Israelites
The Sinai is in the Sinai Desert. This is where Moses and his mob wandered for 40 years.

The term "scapegoat" originates from an ancient ritual where a goat would receive the sins of the community and be driven out into the wilderness. Today, it is used to describe a person who is unfairly blamed or punished for the mistakes or wrongdoings of others. It signifies a form of unjustly carrying the burden of others' faults or shortcomings.
Jesus fed all of the Jews manna.. God later describes manna which fell from heaven as angels food. Incidentally they wandered the desert for 40 years which is a generation. Study your bibles fervently and pray always.

40 years
The number 40 in the Bible means a period of trial or tribulation, the Israelites had to wander the desert for 40 years. They were often hungry and thirsty. Since the Israelites had been imprisoned under Egyptian rule, many still worshipped pagan religions, and so they had to be taught about God.
