Why did Silverstream gave Firestar a life?
Silverstream gave Firestar a life because she wanted to show her support for him as the new leader of ThunderClan. She felt a strong connection to him as a former mate of Graystripe, and believed in Firestar's ability to lead the Clan. This act symbolized her trust and faith in him.
How did SkyClan form?
SkyClan was originally part of the five clans. They were the tree watchers, eating mostly tree prey like birds and squirrels. However SkyClan's territory was being invaded by two-legs (humans) and the other four Clans did not offer any hospitality or any kind of solution, instead the other four Clans drove SkyClan out. SkyClan went far away to live on their owns, but later SkyClan was nearly wiped out by a band of rats (you can read this in Firestar's Prophecy). It's Firestar. There are rumours flying around that Firestar will die in The Last Hope, so this might be why he's on the cover. But I hope not!The reason Firestar is on the cover is because he is the fourth. Don't believe me? Check this out. "There will be three, kin of your kin, that hold the power of the stars in their paws." As far as we know, the new prophecy still holds to "kin of your kin" firestar is kin of his own kin, isn't he? Now tell me i'm wrong.

The order is, chronologically, Bluestar's Prophecy, The Rise of Scourge, Warriors, Tigerstar and Sasha, Firestar's Quest, The New Prophecy, Graystripe's manga, Power of Three, Omen of the Stars. The time of Ravenpaw's manga is unknown because I have not received it yet.

Is it better to read Midnight or Firestar's Quest first?
If you want to read both books, Firestar's quest comes before Midnight chronologically so that would be the best order to read it in. Firestar's quest is set off from the rest of the series though, so you don't really have to read it to understand the events that occur in Midnight.
