In The Bible, in Mark chapter 5, Jesus sends the demons to 2000 hogs. The hogs did not die by drowning.

Another answer:

Demons are the "angels that sinned" [II Peter 2:4], which followed Satan in his government coup attempt against God in the beginning [see Rev.12:7-9]... which God, in turn, cast down to the earth in a prison-like confinement, or restraint, until Judgment Day, which God has set aside for their trial date [see also Jude 1:6].

Therefore... those angels that possessed those swine over two thousand years ago are still alive today, to stand trial on Judgment Day, the Last Great Day of God's plan of Salvation for His special creation, man. Demonic angels find themselves frustrated and in utter torment if they can't find a "host" to possess... like men, animals, or even in some cases, "places."

Those demons, and the thousands of other demons cast down to earth in the beginning, have continued on and have spent their ongoing "prison time" over the past centuries moving and possessing people, other living creatures and things, as their constant state of torment compels them.

"When an evil spirit leaves a person [or a herd of swine], IT GOES INTO THE DESERT, seeking rest but finding none. Then it says, 'I will return to the person I came from [if that person is still alive].' So it returns and finds its FORMER HOME empty, swept, and clean. Then the spirit finds seven other spirits MORE EVIL THAN ITSELF, and they all enter the person and live there. And so that person is worse off than before. That will be the experience of this evil generation." (Matt.12:43-45 NLT New Living Translation)

Weymouth's New Testament [WEY] says: "No sooner however has the foul spirit gone out of the man [or swine], then HE ROAMS ABOUT IN PLACES WHERE THERE IS NO WATER, seeking rest but finding none."

So, NO... demons don't die by drowning... or any other way. They are "spirit beings" that cannot die at all. Nor does the Bible say anything about their future punishment being "death." It talks about their future sentencing to involve "eternal torment in dispossessed outer darkness" [the eternal torturous condition whereby Satan has the false religions of this world believing is MAN'S FUTURE JUDGMENT and FATE in an ever-burning fire. The fire, also, which God intends for the demons to witness all their evil works destroyed]:

"Then the King will turn to those on the left and say, 'Away with you, you cursed ones, into the Eternal Fire PREPARED FOR THE DEVIL AND HIS DEMONS! " (Matt.25:41 NLT)

Even then, the angels that sinned won't die in the coming Lake of Fire on Judgment Day [see Rev.20:12-15]... but all sin and wickedness and all incorrigibly wicked [mortal] men who shall have chosen to embrace their wicked, rebellious ways, instead of the Loving Commandments of God shall perish there. The angels that sinned will suffer great torment at seeing all their works going up in flames... just before they, themselves, are cast into outer darkness -- disembodied forever.

Spirit beings live forever... just like God's future children... mankind... who shall receive God's Salvation and be reborn, immortal, into His Family:

"...For those worthy of being raised from the dead won't be married then. And THEY WILL NEVER DIE AGAIN. In these respects THEY ARE LIKE ANGELS. They are Children of God raised up to New Life." (Luke 20:35-36 NLT)

Those ancient demons are the same living, tormented beings that still plague mankind, today. And they shall continue to do so until Jesus Christ returns.
