From my own personal experience, my husband's affair ended when I discovered it. Bad scenario but that's what happen. But he told me face to face that he "was" planning to break up with her, "but" he was looking for the right time so she wouldn't get hurt.
Wth his explanation, it was clear to me that he wasn't ready to loose her. His planned was to talk to me first, then he will end his relationship with her..ditto! right
