The reason why Sandy moves to Florida is her parents found out Soda wanted to marry her and didn't like the idea so they made her move. Don't listen to spark notes! They say Sandy is pregnant with someone else's baby and that is so NOT true! Trust me, I read this book 11 times and saw the movie a lot too.
