No major work done on it yet? You have been keeping up on the oil changes every 3000 miles? No heavy pulling or over revving? You could get another 100,000 miles on it. Chances are that the timing chain guides are getting very worn out tho. They will most likely need replacement in the next 50,000 miles. Same with the seals around the valves. I am at 355,590 on mine. I just had everything done on it. Also don't forget the transmission and gear boxes. If you havnt done so I suggest you change the oils in them as well.
So if you have the V6 with a belt drive you don't need worry about the chain guides. But the belt might need to be looked at and see how its doing. Also check the under carriage. Rust is a killer. I have an 86 Toyota 4 runner that I cleaned underneath and then sprayed with an undercoating several years ago. It is still looking good. I just am going to retouch it up this summer.
how do remove the tailgate's window motor on a toyota 4runner 1997 ?
The 1997 Toyota 4Runner OBD 2 port is under driver side dash next to center console
No.
i would change it when i change the timing belt, about every 70,000 miles
none
Toyota recommends 90,000 miles. unless the water pump goes, this interval is fine.
every 130,000 miles :)
Below the center console.
The 1997 Toyota 4Runner with the 6-cylinder, 3.4 liter V6 produces 150 horsepower at 4,800 rpm. This vehicle gets 15 miles to the gallon in the city and 19 mph on the highway.
To disarm a 1997 Toyota 4Runner factory alarm, place the key in the ignition. Turn the key about halfway ensuring the car does not start. Leave the key in that position for 10 to 15 minutes and start the car.
In theory you could to any vehicle but whether or not you should is the question.
Take it to a brake shop. If you have to ask you aren't qualified to do it.
