In what battles can you play as King Mickey in Kingdom Hearts 2?

This isn't true at all. Ignoring the fact that the first person you play as is Roxas, and not Sora, you may indeed play as Mickey.
To do it though, you must lose a boss battle. Actually, up to ten boss battles. In order, they are:
01-Shan-Yu
02-Thresholder and Possessor
03-Shadow Stalker/Dark Thorn
04-Cerberus (First Battle with Auron)
05-The Hydra
06-Volcanic Lord and Blizzard Lord
07-Storm Rider
08-Xaldin
09-Grim Reaper (First Battle)
10-Xemnas (First Armored Battle)
But there are certain limitations, such as not being able to finish a boss battle with Mickey, as he has no finisher, and that each time you die, you gain a lower chance of his appearing.

∙ 13y agoIn Kingdom Hearts II, there are certain boss battles that, if lost, have an option to play as King Mickey, instead of loading a save file or continuing. This is the only way to play as King Mickey without cheating or modding. There is also no way to summon King Mickey, despite common belief of an item called 'The King's Charm', which doesn't exist.

In Kingdom Hearts 1, no. In Kingdom Hearts 2, sometimes. If you get defeated in a certain boss battle, you will have the choice of playing at King Mickey for a brief period of time. Once in control, you can attack the boss or build up a charge meter which will fully revive Sora (think of it as an extra life). Note that King Mickey cannot defeat the boss fully; Sora must deal the final blow. Also, if King Mickey loses all health, he will automatically revive Sora to half HP. In Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, no. In Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days, yes. He can be unlocked in story mode to be used in multiplayer. In Kingdom Hearts Coded/Re:Coded, no.
