Islam is practiced by almost all of the population in several countries of western Asia (Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Djibouti, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Yemen) and is the largest by far in Bahrain, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Kosovo, Qatar, Tajikistan, and Albania. The vast majority of the people of northern and western Africa (Algeria, Comoros, Egypt, Libya, Guinea, Mali, Maldives, Mauritania, Morocco, Niger, Oman, Senegal, Somalia, Tunisia, and Western Sahara) are Islamic. But some of the largest number of adherents come from southern and southeastern Asia (Pakistan and Bangladesh by design, and also Indonesia, which has the largest number of Islamics of any country in the world).
