The following distinguishing characteristics can be used to differentiate between DNA and RNA:

∙ 12y agoRNA contains a ribose sugar that ha oxygen while DNA has deoxyribose sugar which does not have oxygen. DNA has the base Thymine, while RNA has the base Uracil. RNA is single stranded while DNA is double stranded in a double helix.

∙ 13y agoRNA is a single strand whereas DNA is a double stranded helix.
RNA has one less oxygen than DNA (RNA=ribose DNA=deoxyribose).
RNA contains the bases Adenine, guanine, cytosine and uracil whereas DNA has Thymine instead of uracil.
DNA transcribes to RNA and RNA translates to protein
Wiki User
∙ 7y agoDNA is double stranded, has four bases (adenine, cytosine, guanine and thymine) and a sugar called deoxyribose. RNA is single stranded, has four bases but uracil instead of thymine and has a sugar called ribose.
Wiki User
∙ 12y ago1. RNA is single stranded, DNA is double stranded
2. The sugar in RNA is ribose, DNA is deoxyribose
3. RNA's base contains uracil, DNA's base contains thymine
Wiki User
∙ 15y agoDNA RNA 1. Sugar: Deoxyribose ribose 2. Nucleic Acid Difference: Thymine, Adenine, Guanine, Cytosine all 3 same as but uracil replaces thymine. 3. Double Stranded Single strand
RNA is typically single-stranded, while DNA is double-stranded. RNA contains ribose sugar, while DNA contains deoxyribose sugar. RNA uses uracil as a base instead of thymine, which is found in DNA.

∙ 12y agoRNA stands for Ribonuclaic Acids. Instead of Thymine, it contains Uracil.
Wiki User
∙ 12y ago1. DNA contains thiamine base pairs while RNA has Uracil base pairs
2. DNA contains deoxyribose while RNA has Ribose
3. DNA is a double helix while RNA is single-stranded
DNA consists of four different nucleotides: adenine (A), thymine (T), cytosine (C), and guanine (G). RNA also consists of four different nucleotides: adenine (A), uracil (U), cytosine (C), and guanine (G). Uracil replaces thymine in RNA.
Rna and dna
DNA is different with some ways to RNA -It have two chains but RNA have one chains -ıt stored herditary material (genetic material ) and controled cell activities but RNA ' s function protein synthesis -DNA can make copy ofıtself but RNA cannot -DNA have deoxyribose sugar but RNA have ribose sugar
A. rRNA Type of RNA molecule transcribed from a DNA template B. codon Sequence of three nucleotides on a messenger RNA molecule C. tRNA RNA component of ribosomes D. anticodon Connects mRNA codon to an amino acid E.mRNA Sequence of three nucleotides on a transfer RNA molecule
RNA has ribose sugar, while DNA has deoxyribose sugar. RNA is single-stranded, while DNA is double-stranded. RNA contains uracil as one of its nitrogenous bases, whereas DNA contains thymine.
DNA is the same thing as DNA. If you mean RNA, that's a whole nother ball game.
RNA is a single-stranded nucleic acid that carries genetic information and plays a role in protein synthesis. DNA, on the other hand, is a double-stranded nucleic acid that contains the genetic instructions necessary for the development, functioning, and reproduction of all living organisms. DNA is more stable and is the primary molecule for storing genetic information, whereas RNA is involved in various cellular processes such as protein synthesis and gene regulation.
Yes, DNA and RNA have different sugar . DNA contains deoxyribose sugar whereas RNA consists of ribose sugar, which are completely different from each other.
