Do nephrons form urine?

Blood is filtered through the bowmans capsule (large proteins are left in the bloodstream). The fluid that remains in the nephron after filtration is called the filtrate. The filtrate enters the proximal tubule. Glucose, amino acids, and water are secreted (released into bloodstream). The filtrate begins to darken with less water in it.The filtrate then moves on to the Loop of Henle. On descent, water leaves the filtrate by osmosis and on ascent; sodium and chloride leave the filtrate by active transport. This is necessary to produce concentrated urine. The loop of henle becomes less permeable as it goes ascends so less sodium and chloride leave the filtrate as the filtrate makes its way up the loop. The filtrate then moves on to the Distal Tubule where pH is regulated and sodium potassium, and calcium levels are controlled. The filtrate becomes more concentrated here. The filtrate then moves into the Collecting Duct. The collecting duct is what connects the nephrons to the ureter. It participates in electrolyte and fluid balance through reabsorption and excretion.(I did this for a Grade 12 Biology lab so this is just a collection of stuff I got off the internet from various good sources! anybody else who was just as confused as I was when I got this question!)

Can urine carry airborne diseases?

Normally urine will not carry the airborne diseases. As urine is generated from ultra-filtrate. But then this is not the rule of thumb and you may find some infection or at least some individual, who can transmit the airborne infection by way of urine.

How is urine produced in the human male?

Urine is produced the same way in both males and females. It is a filtrate of the blood. The kidneys filter waste out of the blood, this waste is then sent to the bladder, and this waste is urine. From the bladder it moves through the urethra and is then voided. A man's urethra is considerably longer than a woman's, and a man's urethra terminates at the head of the penis.

What does it mean when your urine is unaltered?

Unaltered urine is referring to a urine sample not changed in any way, such as no chemicals or substances added to make it different than how it was when it exited the donors body .

What happend in the kidney as the liquid passes though the nephron?

As blood passes into and through the glomerulus, due to the high blood pressure coming into the kidney, water and other solutes, eg: urea, glucose, sodium, potassium and other electrolytes, are forced by pressure thru a membrane and into the nephron. Red Blood cells are too big to pass through this, and remain in the blood vessels, if you do have blood in your urine it can be a indicator of a problem in the kidney. This fluid then moves through the nephrons, the proximal convoluting tubule, the loop of Henle, the distal convoluting tubule and into the collecting duct. On the way, through passive and active osmosis, water, electrolytes are removed from the filtrate and back into the body, until the filtrate is the concentrated formula which then flows out the kidney to the bladder.

Why should protein not normally be found in urine?

Ok, let's analyse it in biochemistry and phisiological way. First up, urine is the product filtered by your kedney from blood. urine include something you didn't need any more, and your kedney helped you to clear away the blood with waste. Amazingly, kedney cannot filter a lot of things, include(just as you say) protein, most of glucose, axunge, edc. They are nessessary things when we alive.Let's imagine this scence: blood like roads in real world, and the nutrients like cars with our own. They can go anywhere but with our control. Through the road, they from our home to our work places, or the shopping mall. Different car have different destination . The kedney like scrap yard, weed out the used. Glomerular basement membrane and renal tubular is safeguard to protect the nutrients.

What protects the urinary system organs from the urine itself?

Nothing; your insides are soaked with urine. A less jarring way of putting it is that urine, by itself, is not all that bad as liquids go. It is, in fact, a filtrate of the blood. The kidneys are filters, and when blood passes through the kidneys the kidney output is urine. Urine is as clean as the blood itself, unless there is some infection in the kidneys, bladder or urinary tract. So wherever there is blood in the body, and that covers very close to all of it, there is also urine ready to be filtered out. Urine does not remain a sterile or nearly sterile liquid for very long outside of the body. There may be germs even at the point of exit that contaminate it. Anyone knows that urine will reek if left out or remains on surfaces for any length of time. Various bacteria live happily in it.

Is urine output different with a cold drink than with a warm drink?

No because your body processes liquid the same way no matter what the temperature.
