Born circa 1508 B.C., Queen Hatshepsut reigned over Egypt for more than 20 years. The queen died in early February of 1458 B.C.
Born circa 1508 B.C., Queen Hatshepsut reigned over Egypt for more than 20 years. She lived in the Palace of Ma'at. It was rectangular structure. The capital was Thebes, Amarna, and then again Thebes.
She ruled from 1479 to 1458 BC
Queen Hatshepsut was probably between 30-35 when she assumed the throne of Egypt, first as Queen Regent for her nephew, Thutmosis III who was a child of about 6. After about 5 years, she discarded all pretense of reigning in her nephew's name, and took the throne as Pharoah herself. She reigned in her own name for about 17 years. So in total, Queen Hatshepsut reigned in ancient Egypt into her 22nd year. She was probably anywhere between 50-55 at her death, which by the lifespan for men and women of her time (roughly 35), she would have been considered elderly. A mummy identified as Queen Hatshepsut was found in Egypt in 2009. Sadly it showed that the Queen suffered from artheritis, diabetes, but dies from bone cancer which had spread throughout her body. Unfortunatly, it must have been a very painful and prolonged illness and death for this great Queen.
Hatshepsut was the fifth pharaoh of the Eighteenth dynasty of Ancient Egypt and was born in the year 1508. The name of Hatshepsut's stepson is Tuthmose III.
Actually Cleopatra started ruling Egypt in 50 BC but was driven out and it wasn't until 47 BC that she regained the throne and her rule was established.
Her mom didn't rule Egypt. She was the first king pharaoh because she was strong. She also put is use the trade route and became the constructor of the 18th dynasty. After tutmoses 11 died, tutmoses 111 was too young to rule. She put on the fake beard and ruled as a man and she was good at that.
Sekhmet did not rule ancient Egypt, she was the goddess of protecting the ruler (pharaoh) of ancinet Egypt.
After the death of her father at age 12, Hatshepsut married her half-brother Thutmose II, whose mother was a lesser wife, a common practice meant to ensure the purity of the royal bloodline. During the reign of Thutmose II, Hatshepsut assumed the traditional role of queen and principal wife.
Her time or reign was 1508-1458 BC. She was the fifth pharaoh of the Eighteenth dynasty of Egypt.
