Neither side used witch weapons in a significant way. They mainly used axes and bows etc. Whatever these witch weapons are they sound terrifying.
Around 2000 kamikaze flights were mounted during World War II. They sank 40 US ships. 3,913 Japanese kamikaze pilot's died altogether.

The alternative was to invade Japan with conventional forces. For the US, the bloodiest land battle in the pacific, was Okinawa. An invasion of the Japan Islands themselves, would have been double or triple the casualties.
