Perhaps low coolant level Perhaops thermostat is not opening allowing coolant flow through the engine
The engine coolant drain plug in the 1996 Ford Probe 4-cylinder is located at the bottom end of the radiator. There is a coolant reservoir at the top of the engine as well.
check/replace the engine coolant level sensor located in the engine coolant overflow reservior (located at the rear of the engine compartment pass. side)
General Motors changed to Dexcool Extended Life coolant in 1996. It is the orange colored coolant. Green coolant will not hurt the system, it must be replaced about 5 times as frequently though. Beware that once you use green coolant in your cooling system, it is very dificult to remove completely if you want to use the extended life coolant in the future.
There is an engine coolant tank , made of plastic , in the engine compartment on the passenger side that has a mark on it for the cold level of your engine coolant , maintain the coolant level up to that mark when the engine is cold
The engine block coolant drain plug on a 350 Chevy Tahoe is above the oil pan, mid engine on driver's side
P0118 means: Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit HighP0118 means: Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit High
both lights, the check engine and the low coolant light need to be reset and only a GM dealership can do that because they are the only ones that have the codes
The ECT or the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor is a switch. This switch is located on the bottom of the radiator in the 1996 Camry.
It's probably a head gasket problem.
It is on the front of the engine next to the water pump.
Make sure you have engine coolant. If the engine isn't getting enough coolant, it will overheat, stall and possibly destroy the engine. One symptom is that no coolant is circulated into the heater. Also check the crank sensor, but check coolant first...then the crank sensor.
Bottom right of the water pump. Dead center of the engine in the front.
