suffocation
Rat, like all mammals, have noses and mouths which lead to the lungs. When rats breathe in the air, the oxygen travel to the lungs where gas exchange occurs.
Lung capacity is measured by a spirometer giving you this measurement.Total Lung Capacity = vital capacity + reserve volume = approximately 6 L.Any less than the normal volume will cause a loss of gas exchange. It may not seem much at first but if it progresses, it can lead to the what might be called suffocation. You can not get enough oxygen in the lungs for cell metabolism and it will finally lead to death.
If the lead projectile (such as a bullet) hits his spine or his heart, it will instantly kill the pig. If it hits a major artery, the pig will bleed to death in seconds. If it is going very fast and hits his lungs, it can tear up the lungs so he can't breath.

yes it can effect your lungs
Asthma is a condition, and wasn't made. Asthma is constriction and/or inflammation in the airways (or bronchioles) in the lungs, which could lead to passing out or even death.
The lungs.

trachea leads to the lungs
Left ventricle pumps oxygenated blood out through aorta and to the rest of the body. The right ventricle will pump deoxygenated blood to the pulmonary artery to get oxygenated in the lungs. Then the oxygenated blood will come back down the pulmonary vein into the left atria, and then left ventricle. The blood never fills up the lungs, the gas exchange occurs within the capillaries in the lungs.
