I had this problem on a 2001 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer 4wd. It would sometimes start perfect and run perfect and sometimes woould crank but not start. It sounded like it wasnt getting fuel. Then I would try it again and it would start right away. I did some diagnostics on this and it turned up being a bad fuel pump inside the fuel tank. They run around $400 just for the pump and sending unit assembly(motorcraft part only sold together).
Its a difficult job for a do it yourselfer like myself w/o a lift and a transmission jack so I made the unusual decision to take it to a shop and pay 2 hrs labor (first time in ever).
Oroginally, I thought no way is it the fuel pump cause it seemed like an electrical problem. However, if you think about it, the pump is like a motor, if it gets a bad spot in it and it happens to stop on the bad spot-it doesnt start(less than 10% chance of stopping on that bad spot). I noticed the problem started getting worse though(bigger spot). Think of it as a big price is right $1.00 mark. Chances are you don't hit it...
Anyway, replace the pump if you get this problem...

a number of things could cause this but the first thing that comes to mind is tires out of balance or out of round. Could also be an alignment issue.

the fuel reset switch is under the passenger side kick panel on the firewall you have to pull off the plastic panel to get to it.
