Whether GPU mining is better than ASIC mining depends on your goals and budget.
ASIC miners are more efficient and profitable than GPU miners for mining a specific crypt-ocurrency. However, they are also more expensive and can only be used to mine a single crypt-ocurrency algorithm.
GPU miners are less efficient and profitable than ASIC miners, but they are more affordable and can be used to mine a wide variety of crypt-ocurrencies.
In addition, ASIC miners are more noisy and produce more heat than GPU miners. This can be a consideration if you plan to mine in your home or office.
Here is a table that summarizes the key differences between GPU and ASIC mining:
Feature | GPU mining | ASIC mining
Hash rate | Lower | Higher
Energy efficiency | Lower | Higher
Cost | Lower | Higher
Profitability | Lower | Higher
Versatility | Can mine a wide variety of coins | Can only mine a specific crypt-ocurrency algorithm
Noise | Lower | Higher
Heat production | Lower | Higher

ASIC: Application-Specific Integrated Circuit. It is a chip designed to perform one specific task, such as mining crypt-ocurrency. ASIC miners are typically very efficient at mining, but they can only mine one crypt-ocurrency. GPU: Graphics Processing Unit. A GPU is a chip designed to perform graphics-intensive tasks, such as gaming or video editing. GPUs can also be used to mine crypt-ocurrency, but they are not as efficient as ASIC miners. However, GPUs can be used to mine multiple cryptocurrencies. Here are some of the key differences between ASIC and GPU miners: Hashrate: ASIC miners have a much higher hashrate than GPU miners. This means that they can solve crypt-ographic puzzles much faster, which can lead to higher profits. Power consumption: ASIC miners consume much more power than GPU miners. This can be a major factor in determining the profitability of mining, as the cost of electricity can quickly eat into profits. Noise: ASIC miners are much louder than GPU miners. This is because they have to run at a higher speed to achieve their higher hashrate. Cost: ASIC miners are typically much more expensive than GPU miners. This is because they are custom-designed for mining, and the manufacturing process is more complex. Flexibility: ASIC miners are only capable of mining a single crypt.ocurrency. This is because they are designed to exploit a specific crypt.ographic algorithm. GPU miners, on the other hand, can be used to mine a variety of crypt.ocurrencies. gpu is a graphical processing unit which ables you run high definitions graphics on your PC, which are the demand of modern computing. if you want to run windows vista ultimate edition then it is better if your PC has a gpu. it helps you to get better 3d views. nividia is very well known for it's gpu.
It is unfortunately not particularly cost effective to mine bitcoins with a graphics card on a home pc anymore. You would need a client like Guiminer and also a bitcoin wallet, and membership of a bitcoin pool so that you can share mining for more constant and smaller rewards, or solo mine for a 50 BTC reward. However some new chips specifically designed for bitcoin mining called ASIC super computers, specifically designed for bitcoin mining. However, scrypt-based currency mining, like Litecoin mining, is still cost effective. An guide to building a custom 4 GPU Litecoin mining rig can be found at www.coinminingrigs.com
Photoshop is more CPU intensive than GPU intensive. This means that the performance of Photoshop is more dependent on the power and speed of the computer's central processing unit (CPU) rather than the graphics processing unit (GPU).
To succeed in crypt-ocurrency mining, selecting the right hardware is pivotal. The hardware requirements depend on your chosen crypt-ocurrency and mining approach. Generally, you'll need specialized equipment like ASIC (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit) miners for coins such as Bit-coin, while GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) miners are suitable for others like Ethereum. These hardware pieces are optimized for the specific algorithms used by each crypt-ocurrency, ensuring efficient mining. Moreover, a robust Power Supply Unit (PSU) is crucial to handle the power demands of your hardware. Efficient cooling solutions, such as fans or liquid cooling, are essential to prevent overheating during continuous mining operations. Additionally, make sure to pick a motherboard with enough PCIe slots to accommodate your GPUs or ASICs, along with a reliable CPU and sufficient RAM. Lastly, remember to invest in secure storage for your operating system and mining software. With the right hardware tailored to your crypt-ocurrency of choice, you'll be well-equipped for a successful mining venture. Nvidia GeForce 6100 GPU. Definitelly. :)
The X1950 pro is a much better gpu. It supports DX9 versus DX7 for 7200. The X1950 is several generations newer than the 7200 as well.
ASUS of course! ASUS has better Warranty on all products and have better casing/cooling to all of their GPU's. Although these are good Gigabyte are cheaper because of course there lack of performance and quality. Personally I would spend a bit more and get a better quality GPU.
Go with NVidia, they offer better cards in nearly any price range. Whichever you can afford: 8800GS, 8800GT or 8800GTS 512MB!
Depends what you use the computer for, and how cheep it will be to upgrade in the future. If you play games, and can see the difference between frame rates, go with the better gpu. If you use CAD software, video editing and encoding, etc, you are better off with the extra memory. Also, take into account the cost of upgrade. Depending on your motherboard, it may be cheeper to upgrade ram or gpu. Note you can also Crossfire another 5850, to give the performance of a 5970.
Lenovo Ideapad Y50 slimmer and lighter than Y510pLenovo Ideapad Y50 GPU: 860M (Maxwell)Lenovo Ideapad Y50p GPU: 750M SLIfor gaming Lenovo Ideapad Y50 is better but some demanding games like Sleeping Dogs, Metro: Last Light, Thiefmay need some settings turned down slightly for more fluid gameplay. High GPU temperature can be caused by factors such as poor airflow in the PC case, a malfunctioning or dusty GPU fan, overclocking the GPU, or running demanding tasks or games for extended periods. It is important to ensure proper ventilation in the case, clean the GPU fan regularly, avoid excessive overclocking, and monitor the GPU temperature to prevent damage.
