Pontiacs are notorious for running a little on the hot side. If 212 is the highest it gets, that is fine. Just make sure your cooling system is in good shape. Run the largest radiator that you can. Run a good 7 blade fan, a temp/rpm sensitive fan clutch, and a fan shroud.
