A person of ordinary height and medium build would be considered morbidly obese at 300 pounds. This means that there are serious and ongoing risks to health and well-being while maintaining weight at this level. Weight is an extremely important issue in many countries, and particularly in the US, where obesity is skyrocketing, even among children. It is an extremely difficult thing to control, for many reasons. Some of the issues that impact obesity in the US are socio-economic inequalities, a culture that worships FAST FOOD (a true oximoron), fats, sugars, salt and corn oil in every possible combination, a culture that is intoxicated and hypnotized by electronic devices but that is clueless to the advantages of healthy living and foods of high quality, the wide-spread and unspoken belief that soda is just the same as water...
