i used to take 400mg of seroquel before i went to the ment hospital they told me that was high and lowerd me to 300mg i would adive you stop taking it but first tell your doctor because 800mg is for really cazy people lol and u may need it

It all depends on what disorder it's prescribed for.
I'm on 800mg Seroquel for bi-polar (along with some others), and I feel ok.
If you're Schizophrenic, then the starting dose is usually 25mg twice a day, increasing to 400mg/day.
I would not advise adjusting your medications by yourself... should only be done under a dr's supervision.
*Whoever wrote this is insensitive and I would venture to say is making light and using the word "crazy" to compensate for insecurities regarding their own plight with mental illness. 800 mg. is described as the "working dose" for many severe cases of Bipolar disorder according to the psychiatrist that prescribed it to me. Crazy is a loose term. I have been diagnosed with Mixed Bipolar, Schizophrenia, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Sever OCD, Anxiety Disorder, and Borderline Personality Disorder and I functioned for 29 years keeping everyone around me in complete dark that I suffered from any, let alone all of these. I saw a psychiatrist for the first time three weeks ago and honestly, to be told I was severely mentally ill was comical to me as well since I am smarter and more productive than 90% of the people I know. Mental Illness is not a downfall or a flaw, it is quite simply an adjective. Do not let people who are immature about it make you feel ashamed of being who you are and having the courage to seek a better life without being plagued with symptoms.

400 mg is by no means a high dose, it depends on what you are prescribed for, for Bi-Polar the dose is usually 300-400 max, for schizophrenia it is common to go up to 800 per day, I take 300 a day for Bi-polar, I have a friend who takes about 4 different types of meds a day, including 2400 mg of Seroquel, and no he doesn't sit in a corner drooling on himself

∙ 12y agothat's seems a bit excessive. You would prob. sleep for 1.5 days. take 400 mg and try to stay awake....not happening. unless of course your trying to stay up and be weird tripping on sleeping pills

Seroquel depresses the respiratory and circulatory systems and can lead to coma, brain death, and when combined with other depressants, heart failure aka death. if you have a serious psychiatric condition 300 mg is a usual dose. If you do not then DO NOT take anywhere near 800 mg unless you are trying to commit suicide, in which case seek help. Suicide solves nothing it just hurts those who care about you.

seroquel XR (eXtender Release) can be taken just one-dose daily; usually 3 hours before bed-time without food or a light-meal. Seroquel immediate release should be taken 2 or 3 times daily. Seroquel XR reduce extrapiramidal symptoms, and common side effects like weight gain with 2-3 times administration (Max. concentration are not so high with XR version)

It totally depends on what you are taking it for. 100 mg of seroquel will knock you out if you aren't extremely used to it. The doses of both seroquel and adderall change based on how much you have done in the past, plus what your underlying disorder is. If this is for medical purposes, consult your doctor. If this is for recreational purposes, don't take any more adderall than you would take w/o the seroquel... the seroquel will obviously mitigate some of the effects (as adderall causes more dopamine to be released and seroquel, among other things, antagonizes the d2 receptor). I currently take 25 mg of seroquel at night and 15 mg of adderall xr in the morning, and the combination is fantastic. But take that with a grain of salt, b/c everyone's physiology is different. In that respect, this question is kind of like "how many lines of coke should you snort with 6 beers?" It can't be answered without a lot more information. Seroquel mainly antagonizes the d2 receptor of the brain. ADHD which adderall treats mainly has threaputic affects through the d4 receptor which seroquel has minimal affinity. Your seroquel shouldn't affect the effects of adderall so your normal dose should do fine maybe a 5 mg increase might help if you're taking a particularly high dose of seroquel

After I had the chest pain thoroghly checked out to make sure there was nothing seriously wrong, my Dr. gave me a prescription for low dose tramadol to take those first few days at each lower seroqel dose so that I could function. You should talk to your physician though--the CNS depressive side effects of Seroquel and Tramadol are additive.....so I imagine you might not be able to take it if you are on a lot of Seroquel.
