Sort of... Apple Inc. manufactures the Mac (short for Macintosh- a type of apple, you see). Over the years the various other types of Apple computers have all gone out of production. Apple makes all kinds of other electronics- iphones, ipods, etc., but when you are referring to personal computers, Apples and Macs are pretty much the same thing.

∙ 9y agoNo. A laptop is any computer that is portable, and can run on battery power, and small enough to fit on your lap. A Mac refers to any computer manufactured by Apple Inc. that runs the Mac OS X Software, as opposed to Windows. Desktops (Regular Computers) can be both Mac or Windows. Laptops can also be both Mac and Windows. Apple Inc. sells both Laptops and Desktops, as do comapanies that make Windows PCs

∙ 14y agoApple is the name of the company that produces a computer called the Macintosh, often shortened to Mac. There are four styles of computer in the Mac range. Apple's laptop computers are called the MacBook, MacBook Pro, and the ultra thin MacBook Air. Their all-in-one desktop computer is called the iMac. Their stand alone (no keyboard, mouse, display etc) is called the Mac Mini. Their professional range are called the Mac Pros. (See links below)
