Good grief! NOO! He is Jewish but was not bar mitzvahed. He may wear black eyeliner, nail polish and dark clothes, but that is a style preference, not a philosophy. He is all about being positive and sharing the love. In each of his 100+ concerts this year, he clearly stated that love and connection was the message of his show. If you read his tweets and listen to his interviews he is always spreading the message of light, love and being positive.
His mother has said about him, "He has a great disposition. I always said he was like sunshine. He just walks into a room and he, he just glows." Many of the people who have met and interviewed him over the past year have volunteered that he was a pleasure to meet, and one of the nicest guys in the industry.
