It appears by the wording of your question you are looking for an opinion. Of all that I have read about Amerigo I never read any "bad" things about him so I would say he was "good". Also, without him, there is no telling what the New World would have been named. I kind of like the name "Americas".
He wasn't a hero. A hero saves someone or does something exceptional and he didn't . In fact, he lied about what he did do. The English Explorers Society proved in 1889 that his account of finding North America was a lie. A hero doesn't lie or make himself bigger than he is in life.
What he did contribute was the insight that the America was a new continent, as his maps indicated, aiding navigation to and from the New World.
i think he was aw nice person but mean by taking the natives for slaves.
so pretty much he was mean.

No. Amerigo Vespucci was born and raised in Florence, Italy. He was the third son of Ser Nastagio (Anastasio), a Florentine notary, and Lisabetta Mini.
No, he didn't. Columbus landed in the New World in 1492, a few years before Vespucci, but because of bad word of mouth during this time, a cartographer, Martin Waldseemuller, mistakenly thought Vespucci had landed in the New World before Christopher Columbus after an account of Vespucci's 1497 expedition was published. Waldseemuller maned the continent America after him.
Very few, if any. He went along on some (fairly uneventful) travels to South America but in a very minor capacity and not as an 'explorer'. Back home, he wrote about the lands he had visited (as did many others, by the way) but never was seen as the ultimate authority on the newly discovered world. It would have been much of a pleasant surprise to him and the people around him that a German map-maker decided to link his name to the territory - possibly just because the map-maker had recently seen or read one of his travel-books.Later historians have much debated whether America really was named after Amerigo Vespucci. A majority still thinks so, for lack of any more plausible source of the name. Others have argued that the earliest map of parts of the North American coast has been drawn up by an expedition financed by a group of British merchants led by Richard Ameryk and that this earliest map already calls the land "America", meaning "the lands found by the Ameryk expedition".The jury is still out on this, with good ol' Amerigo so far having the best papers.
Good News Bad News (and old News, which is actually History).
There is Some "Good Dreams" And "Bad Dreams"
