Yes. As a example, ice floats on water because density of ice (frozen water) is 0.92 gm/mL and the density of water is 1gm/mL. Imagine if ice were denser than water, and you put in ice cubes into your drink, it would head straight for the bottom of your glass and displace the same volume of your drink! Even with icebergs floating, the Titanic managed to run aground. Nature knows best!
