Asia e University (AeU) is the first Multinational University, set by Asian countries based on the international forum called ACD (Asian Cooperation Dialogue
As a Member country (India also one of the Member of the 31 Countries), India has recognized this university. Since Asia e University is a Multinational University, it is not coming under UGC and also not seeking any Grants from this UGC. And obviously it is not coming under any Professional councils like AICTE,NCTE etc.
On 20th August 2009, Distance Education Council of India issued the Direct approval order to Asia e University stating that Asia e University is recognised in India.
