Is Asian food saltier than other foods?
Japanese, Korean, and American Chinese food tend to be very salty, especially if they are prepared in a restaurant. However, Spanish food (e.g. food from Spain like paella or tapas) is notoriously salty as is American Fast-Food. The bottom line is that you would need to compare particular food items to other food items.
American-styled Chinese food tends to be notoriously salty. General Tso's chicken, sweet and sour pork, soups, anything with soy sauce tends to be very salty. Many of the sauces and glazes used are also very high in salt. It's higher than many other foods, though many American fast-food products are high in salt as well. Traditional Chinese food is not as salty or high in fat as its American version.
