Many, if not most, Aspies find that AS doesn't require treatment so much as simply learning to work around it; it generally isn't a disability as such, and many Aspies find that the benefits outweigh the drawbacks.
So far nobody seems sure about what causes AS, and there's arguably no one cause; it's a label for a collection of symptoms, rather than defined by its causes. As a result, it doesn't have any particular treatment, though counselling or psychotherapy have been found by some to be effective in dealing with the... well, "language barrier", almost, between Aspies and neurotypicals.
The main treatment tends to be for recently diagnosed people, given antidepressants and things to deal with the depressions that often (though not always) accompany undiagnosed AS. But many don't need them.
