By it's name Christmas is a celebration devoted to Jesus Christ. However, the winter solstice (the shortest day of the year) comes a few days before Christmas and many different religions observe this astronomical event.

Over the years as people converted to Christianity, they brought their solstice customs -- for example the decorated fir tree, and fit them into the Christmas celebration.

Yes Christmas is pagan, and I'm not just saying that out of opinion. Look into, Lew White "Fossilized Customs". It explains everything.

No, Christmas is not a pagan celebration. Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. Christmas began in the early areas of Christendom in the 2nd or 3rd Centuries.

Pagans celebrated Christmas before christians did. But it was not called Christmas when pagans celebrated it. But Christians hiijacked Christmas at Jesus's birthday because they thought everyone was already happy on that day. Jesus is said to be born later in September.

As the "Christian Holiday" of Christmas, pagans do not celebrate it.

As a modern day secular holiday, pagans celebrate it as any other secular holiday.

The Christians in the Roman Empire originally celebrated Christmas on the same day as the Roman pagan holiday of Saturnalia, so the "christmas" holiday has gone full circle: from a holiday for pagans to a holiday for christians to a holiday for pagans..........
