Amoxicillin can be safely taken before eating or on an empty stomach. That way it is absorbed faster and not slowed down by the presence of food in the stomach. However, if you experience any discomfort you should eat something before taking it to protect your stomach. If you continue to experience discomfort contact your doctor for advice.

I asked my doctor , if it is ok too ingest this with Milk or dairy products ,
he told me that is ok , it will not disturb the medication ..

∙ 11y agoIt doesn't matter whether you take it before, after or with a meal. The medicine will still work. However, some people find that they get some tummy upset (nausea, diarrhoea) when they take this antibiotic, and taking it with food can help avoid these side effects. Remember to complete the whole course of antibiotics.

∙ 12y agoI have taken this med many times for sinus infections and I have taken it both morning and night, and the morning is the best time to take it. The time I took it at night I was woken up at 3 am to severe stomach cramps and had to sit in the bathroom for an hour , so morning is the wisest :)
