Delaware is located on the west bank of the Delaware River, just south of Pennsylvania and west across the Delaware Bay from New Jersey. It is also to the east and north of the state of Maryland. Delaware has beaches on the Atlantic Ocean that are just north of the Maryland beaches.
They are called the cardinal points. To the south is Virginia and north Pennsylvania and to the east Delaware to the west is West Virginia
