France and England are both in Western Europe, but are different countries, fully independent one from another.
France is East of England. In fact, the major part of France is south east to England.
When William invaded England and became its king he was also the Duke of Normandy. Normandy is, and was, part of France and as duke he was, in theory, a servant of the King of France. Integrating England and Normandy would either mean England was part of Normandy and therefore part of France, or Normandy was part of England, which would not have gone down well with the King of France who, in theory, own it.
England, part of Great Britain, and France have no common country they border inasmuch as England can be said to be on an island.

Actually, the English Channel separates England and France. The Channel Tunnel, or Chunnel, connects England and France. English channel connects England and France. It connects the southern part of England with western France. Pretty sure its France and The U.k(England)... I could be wrong
