No. Greece and the U.K. are both independent countries. Greece is in SE Europe and the U.K. is in NW Europe, so they are not even close to one another. They have different forms of goverment, different languages and different currencies.

Yes they are, having joined in 1981. They are also part of the Eurozone which they joined in 2001 with the Drachma being officially replaced in 2002 by the Euro.
