Just called local bike shop. Harley installs convetional 85/90 gear oil purchased from cheapest supplier. Harley does not make their own oil they claim has to be used in their bikes. That info. was obtained from an Amzoil web site. As an Auto Tech. of 34 years I know that different oils are used for different applications for a reason. The use of synthetic or conventional oil should be based on facts not opinions!
80W 90 if using conventional. If using synthetic, 20W 50 will work. Also harley has Formula +.
75w90 gear oil, synthetic or non synthetic
It can be. The 5w20 is the weight of the oil which you can buy conventional or synthetic. If it is synthetic it will say so right on the container. If it does not say synthetic it is conventional oil.
mobil 1 75-90 synthetic or reg
Yes, you can even mix synthetic with conventional oil.
no...but you can use screaming eagle synthetic oil in both the motor and the transmission which is supposed to be better anyways
It is a combination of synthetic oil and conventional oil.
It is conventional oil and contains no synthetic oil. 3000 & 5000 are part synthetic and part conventional. 7000 is a full synthetic oil.
For a 2009 Harley-Davidson Dyna, the recommended transmission oil is a high-quality synthetic or mineral-based gear oil with a viscosity of 75W-90. Harley-Davidson typically suggests using their own brand of transmission fluid, such as the Harley-Davidson Transmission Lube. Always consult the owner's manual for specific recommendations and capacity details.
The best oil to use in your Harley transmission is typically a high-quality synthetic gear oil specifically designed for motorcycle transmissions. Harley-Davidson recommends using their own brand, such as Harley-Davidson Transmission Lubricant, which meets the necessary specifications. Alternatively, options like AMSOIL or Mobil 1 synthetic gear oils are also popular among riders. Always check your owner’s manual for the specific viscosity and requirements for your model.
I will change my oil from conventional oil to synthetic oil on my next oil change.
Semi synthetic or synthetic blend is a combination of synthetic and conventional oil. Full synthetic oil is just that 100% synthetic oil.
