Hieratic is not an alphabet, simply a quick way of writing hieroglyphs (which are also not an alphabet).

An alphabet is a writing system consisting of usually between 20 and 40 signs, each representing a single consonant or vowel sound. The ancient Phoenicians used an alphabet which was later adopted and changed by the Greeks.

The oldest known alphabet was perhaps developed in Canaan around the first half of the 2nd millenium BC; from this developed Arabic, Ugaritic, Phoenician, Greek, Roman, Aramaic, Etruscan, Nabataean, Hebrew, Ethiopic/Amharic, Samaritan and other alphabets.
