Hinduism is more then a religion it is dharm ,religion consist only an institute a book and a prophet.

Hinduism is not just the oldest religion, but first monopolistic religion as well. There is no enforcement, at what you do, but there are a lot of things that have been forbidden, including alcohol, meat, or even anger.

In Hinduism you can pray anything which have given you somethings like tree, mountain ,river, person etc , it is more than religion it living style of people living near Hindu river. It's basically first at everything, thus it makes it a complete religion as well.

Hinduism is the free form religion of India. Free form because other than action according to 'dharma' (fulfillment of one's duties and righteous action), all other things depend on an individual's view. How many Gods and Goddesses to worship and which ones and in what way, all that is relegated to the individual.

Every religion should have a god, a Prophet, a set of beliefs, a set of rituals, a code of conduct, a central place of worship and a central control.

Every Hindu too would have all these. Thus, a person of an other religion interacting with a Hindu, would feel that Hinduism is like any other religion.

However, if he interact with infinite Hindus, he would come to a different conclusion.

1. Everything in Hinduism is antagonistic, chaotic, would transform every moment and may disintegrate any moment.

2. Hindus are very superficial in their approach to their gods. They consider their beliefs as just beliefs and they take any insult to their religion very lightly. In fact, cartoons and jokes about gods is perfectly acceptable.

3. They are divided by castes and sub castes into thousands of groups.

4. Many of the Hindus are Atheists, who worship gods just for the sake of others.

However, a person who has understood Hinduism would conclude that Hinduism is actually an umbrella of infinite mutually compatible religions.

THE UNITY OF HINDUISM IN THE DIVERSITY OF GODS, BELIEFS AND RITUALS:

Every Hindu believes that his life is controlled by the supreme Hindu god Brahman.

Brahman/ Purusha is the Complete Original Human Interface of life, between our real world and mind. It is independent of time, space and person.

Brahman/ Purusha is a three dimensional entity.

The three dimensions are,

1. Gods - Imagination Reality - In this dimension are the seven basic Hindu gods viz. Indra, Shakti, Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva, Shani and Yama

2. Time - Transient and Eternal

3. Integrity - Separation and merger of activities of life. In this dimension are the four Varnas

While a master of any other religion would have extreme belief in his god, a master of Hinduism would conclude that 'I' and the supreme Hindu god are the same, which implies that there is no god. Yet, he is not an Atheist because for him god is not a belief but an absolute fact.

Thus,

1. The apparently chaotic nature of Hinduism, the apparently superficial approach of Hindus to their religion and the conclusion of masters of Hinduism that the supreme Hindu god is the same as 'I', make non Hindus wonder whether Hinduism is a religion.

A deep knowledge of it would make them conclude that Hinduism is a universal and eternal mechanism that creates infinite religions depending on local conditions, that are compatible with each other.

Yes, Hinduism too is a monotheistic religion. It too is based on the theory of One God. The many personal Gods that the Hindu's worship example: Goddess Saraswati, Lord Ganesh etc.) represent aspects or subsets (knowledge and wisdom, respectively) of the One Supreme God.

They are presented as personifications so that people can meditate and focus on certain specific attributes of the Infinite. For the mind to concentrate on the formless infinite is difficult, a picture helps bridge the gap.

The Vedas proclaim "Ekam sat vipra bahudha vadanti" - God is One whom the sages call by various names.

It is unclear what "real religion" means.

Hinduism certainly is a complete religion as opposed to a partial religion (like Confucianism which lacks a developed spiritual component) and makes serious claims about the supernatural world.

If "real religion" refers to a religion that deals with the Truth, then the answer is based entirely on your personal convictions of what the Truth is.
