Which antivirus should I choose for my home PC?

If you have a Windows 10 computer it comes with Microsoft Windows Defender Anti-Virus installed. After years of running other anti-virus, I was advised that I did not need it and that Microsoft's product was good enough. Just do some research on it as compared to other anti-virus programs.

How to Use Antivirus Software?

Owning a computer with access to the internet makes you susceptible to viruses and worms started by people who get a thrill out of causing havoc in people’s lives and usually spread around by unsuspecting innocent people. There are several antivirus programs available to consumers in software stores or on the internet for your computer security. Follow these steps to educate yourself on how to use Antivirus software and protect your computer. ▪ Step 1: Determine your budget for antivirus software. For the most part antivirus software is inexpensive, especially when you consider the damage that won’t be done if you have it protecting your system. There are many antivirus programs available for free on the internet that you can get away with. The only problem with free antivirus programs is that they usually don’t offer a full protection and update their virus list slower than those you pay for. If you are unsure of which antivirus program to go with, consult with your local computer repair shop. They are better equipped and very knowledgeable on the subject of antivirus. ▪ Step 2: Consider using other computer security programs in unison with your antivirus protection. Most computer repair professionals will tell you that antivirus isn’t enough to protect your computer. Regular maintenance should be done on your computer to keep it running at optimum performance. If you search the internet and visit websites, you are at risk. Many sites will track you with cookies; for the most part you are completely unaware. Use a cookie cleaner program to regularly clean these unwanted trackers that are bogging down your computer. Cleaning up unused files will also free up room and allow it to run quicker. ▪ Step 3: Choose an antivirus program that offers more protection. Incoming and outgoing file scanning, real-time network scanning, script blockers, email offline or online protection, instant message protection, scheduled scan and automatic updates are all desirable options you will want to look for when choosing an antivirus program. ▪ Step 4: Scan you computer regularly. Update your antivirus program when newer versions or virus updates are available and use it. Scanning your files, email and computer will protect not only your system from damage but protect the computers of everyone contact or people you interact with online. Many computers come with an antivirus program already installed. Regular antivirus maintenance and updates will offer your computer and your contacts the best protection against viruses. Secure your computer from damage to ease your mind allowing you to enjoy your internet surfing experience.

If there's a virus in a USB that's turning all the files into new ones that can't be opened or deleted is it safe to plug it into a computer so that you can save some files and try to format the USB?

In my opinion yes, but only if the computer has a strong enough antivirus program running for security. I did this knowing that my antivirus can handle this situation.

Your computer is infected with antivirus live can someone help you?

Antivirus Live acts like a legitimate antivirus program yet is really a rogue virus. It slips onto your system without you knowing typically as either a browser hijacker or Trojan virus then it will try to hijack your computer and corrupt the registry. This is the ultimate aim of viruses like Antivirus Live, to make things so bad that you will be desperate enough to buy the program. But the program is a scam and they will compromise your credit card information if given it.

How to Get The Most Out Of Your Antivirus Protection?

These days just about everyone owns a computer. As people become more computer savvy, they understand the risks that they face just by turning on their machines and connecting to the internet. Viruses and spyware can ruin a computer faster than it takes you to check your email, so keeping your antivirus protection up to date is going to give you the best protection possible from these imminent threats. • Step One: Get protected. If you are not currently running an antivirus program on your computer, get one quickly. There are several, like AVG, that will allow you to download a free version of their software that offers the most basic level of protection. Antivirus software can be a little pricey, so this is a great way to make sure you have some level of security • Step Two: Run the updater. Almost every piece of antivirus software comes with an update program to keep you secure against the latest viruses and spyware. Make sure you run your antivirus updater at least once a week to download the latest protection against the newest threats. • Step Three: Automate the process. If you’re not going to be able to remember to run your antivirus updates each week, don’t worry. Most programs will allow you to turn on a setting that will allow it to search for updates automatically. This means when you turn your computer on every Tuesday, it will connect to the manufacturer and update your virus protections, keeping your computer as safe as possible. • Step Four: Call for backup. In some cases, one antivirus program may not be enough. You may want to look for specialized software that protects from things like spyware and even blocks pop-ups. Your computer can never be too secure, so make sure you get the programs you need to protect it. As people become more computer savvy, they start making more sophisticated viruses that can attack your computer and erase everything you own. The best thing you can do to protect yourself from this kind of threat is to make sure your antivirus software is up to date. This will keep your computer clean and your data safe.

Where can you download Common Sense antivirus free?

It should already on your computer you just don't activate it when you turn it on , but you should make it a start up program as it is by far the best antivirus out there, it protects against almost if not all viruses malware and spyware even before it can download itself onto your computer. it should automatically update itself, if not, i feel sorry for you because there is not much that anyone can do to help you. if it doesn't work, it probably wasn't installed properly when you got your computer. If you don't get it yet, its talking about your mental common sense not a antivirus program.
