There are two fairly simple answers to that question:# Supercomputers are expensive! (tens of thousands to millions of dollars) # The architecture for supercomputers is typically proprietary. Any software you run on it would have to be at least recompiled, if not rewritten completely from source on the computer. This means no normal games or photo/video editing software would run (those being the major reasons a "home" user would want a powerful computer for).
That depends on the supercomputer.
Linux itself can't help you get a job. Being familiar with Linux and having certifications in various aspects can help you get some jobs.

Linux is not "based" on anything per se. Its kernel is all original code and the software included in the average Linux distribution is non-centric to a given system. However. Linux is inspired by and readily identified as being "related" to UNIX, to the point many Linux users consider it to be UNIX.
A Linux user can belong to multiple groups, and in most circumstances, it would be very difficult to utilize a Linux system without being so.
There are no major (or even notable) distributions with that name. The only thing that comes close is "Gloria" being the codename for Linux Mint 7.
There are many open-source OS distributions (distros) branching out from the Linux Kernel. Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Puppy, to name but three.
Asthma is becoming increasingly common as a result of there being more dust and pollen in the air.
Directly proportional. As temperature goes up, so does resistance (hence supercomputers being cooled to such low temperatures).
