Michelle Obama has appeared on a number of channels, but she is not officially working for any of them. It is very common for a First Lady to make appearances on TV, and some First Ladies are very popular, so the networks want to have them as guests. In 2011 and again in early 2012, Mrs. Obama did participate in a series of promotional appearances on the Disney Channel about healthy living and exercise; since she is trying to reach young people, it was a good idea for her to appear on a network that has a large number of youthful viewers. However, she has also done appearances on ABC's "The View," the "Ellen" show with Ellen DeGeneres, and various other TV shows, promoting her book about gardening and her project to get American kids to exercise more.
