Singer and Actress Destiny Hope Cyrus (Nov. 23, 1992, now Miley Ray Cyrus) is the daughter of Country Music star Billy Ray Cyrus, and is the lead actress on the Disney Channel's show "Hannah Montana". She plays Miley Stewart, whose alter-ego is singer Hannah Montana. In real life, during concert tours Cyrus sings as both herself and her television character.<br>

The name "Miley" comes from her nickname as a baby, "Smiley". Miley is baby talk for Smiley.<br><br>Cyrus legally changed her name in 2008 to Miley Ray Cyrus. Ray is for her father, and Miley of course is what everyone in her family usually calls her anyway.<br><br>The show "Hannah Montana" is entering what is expected to be its fourth and final year of production. Cyrus is already considering and accepting roles that will help introduce her to older audiences and hopefully help her to make the successful jump from kid star to adult actress and singer, like many before her.<br><br><br>
