Yes, the current Prince of Monaco is Prince Albert Alexandre Louis Pierre Grimaldi.
Monaco was established in 1419, under the Grimaldi's.
Nobody really 'colonised' Monaco. It has been under control of the Grimaldi family for almost 800 years with minor periods when othe nearby European countries took over. Essentially the people and the Grimaldi rule has remained the same since 1297.
Prince Albert II currently governs the principality of Monaco. He has been the Prince of Monaco since 2005. Monaco is a principality governed under a form of constitutional monarchy.
Officilly with the Franco-Monegasque treaty of 1861, Monaco went under French guardianship but continued to be independent. A treaty made with France in 1918 contained a clause providing that, in the event that the male Grimaldi dynasty should die out, Monaco would become an autonomous state under French protection. A third treaty was signed on October 24, 2002. The new treaty deals with issues of sovereignty which were resolved in the 2002 revision of Monaco's constitution. Under the constitutional revisions, approved by the treaty, only a member of the Grimaldi line can assume the throne, therefore resolving concerns that through the 1918 treaty Monaco could potentially become a French protectorate.
China, North Korea, and Vietnam are still under Communist control.

None.
They are mostly French or Italian.
Monaco- which means (Monk) in Italian is as close as you can get to Italy without being under the Italian Flag. The Monacan flag is Red-Over-White ( two horizontal bars) It is obvious from name and photos the Grimaldi family is of Italian origin, but the Principality is well, closer to France- and if the Royal house were extinct would revert to France, this almost happened with some marital hi-jinks by some of the children of Grace.
